alright, it’s been a minute since the last update. What is up with that?
well, a couple exciting things have been going on.
First of all, we now officially have a steam page! (Wishlist it here!)
My current plan for the release goes as follows:
- Finish multiplayer (steam and non steam)
- add more decorative stuff. (Currently adding furniture)
- add more variety in world gen (weather, more biomes, etc)
- make crafting a lot better (aka dynamic updating of the menu)
- More animals and monsters
- more tools
- release as a free steam demo (I will keep updating the game while a demo and it those updates will be available to the demo)
- I will also keep support and updates for non steam releases, such as mobile, web, and downloads from here and itch.io
- Once I’m happy with the game enough to the point I feel okay with charging money, it will probably end up being 3-5 dollars on steam.
- I will also have the option to purchase on itch.io for the same price, and I may end up putting the game on the android App Store, probably either making it free or around a dollar
- Once the game does fully release, you can expect even more constant updates. The game will be a one time purchase, so all updates after release should be 100% free.
- as for the web client, I’m not sure. It will continue being updated for as long as the game is in the demo stage. I may make a web only version which is completely free. This will allow me to add features to the web while keeping it free.
keep in mind, the release is probably at least a year away. I have a lot more I want to add before beginning to charge money.
as for progress on the decorative update, I have added 2 things so far. One type of couch, and one. Chair. I still need to implement a sitting system.
I’m also going to add some ambient noise, such as birds chirping in the morning and crickets at night.
multiplayer progress has been a bit slow xd. I still need to figure out how to transfer the world file via steam when a new person joins. The current problem I’m experiencing on both regular and steam multiplayer is the chests.
I. Hate. Coding. Chests.
for some reason, I just can’t update or send over the chest inventory. When I try it literally does nothing. The chests only update on the side of the person interacting with it.
I won’t be able to work on the game for around a week because I’m going on a trip, so yeah.
hopefully I will have multiplayer working soon though, I feel as if I am close to being done
I want to thank everyone who plays the game for the support! This is my first actual game :p. Going into this I had like no idea how to code lol
alright, thanks for reading!!
